We are delighted to invite you to our flagship summer event at Sandbach School on July 16th . This will be our first AGM for 2 years, and we are combining this with a buffet lunch and also a special guest of former staff member John Owen. To start the day we will also be holding our annual Service in the school chapel.
In all the 300 plus years of Sandbach School, I wonder if any summer ever saw the end of such a large number of cumulative service years. Having joined Sandbach School in 1977 at the age of 11, Paul Franklin’s work as a visual effects supervisor has since taken him around the world and onto the sets of famous, critically-acclaimed films including Inception, Interstellar, The Dark Knight and Venom.
In March 2022, the Old Sandbachians’ Association proudly handed over a cheque for £1,000 to Sandbach School Head Teacher, Sarah Burns.
The Old Sandbachians’ Association is proud to present a selection of images kindly provided by well known former Sandbach School alumnus, Nicholas Booth.
It is with much sadness that we learnt recently of the death of Nigel Johnson, former Head of English. Nigel taught at the school from 1973 – 1983. He inspired many boys through his love of literature and genuine interest in helping individuals achieve their potential.
Steve Hodgkinson (OSA Treasurer) and Jeff Lewis (OSA Secretary) were able to say thank you and goodbye to Yvonne Nichols at Sandbach School recently. As Sarah’s PA she has been an incredible friend, help and supporter of the OSA for many years.
It is with the deepest sadness that we are letting you know of the death of James Steele aged 91 in late September.
Like so many of his contemporaries, Jim was an Old Sandbachian through and through, being proud of all that the school stood for and very grateful for the education it gave him.
On Saturday 27th November 2021, for the first time in more than two years due to Covid restrictions, the Old Sandbachians’ Association were finally back where we belong – at Sandbach School.
