Looking at what is there….

I was at Sandbach School for 37 years and have worked with a lot of staff, some of whom had worked at the school for many years before I came.  Some went to the school as pupils.  They have pointed out bits of the school’s history to me over the years which I would have otherwise missed.

What has always amazed me is the way the school has changed since it was built in 1849. New bits have been added over the years and you can often see the joins!

Some bits are much better than others and if you were to speak to boys who attended 20, 50 or 100 years ago they would still recognise a lot but would be astonished at the way the school has grown………so lets take a look in Part 1 of a series.

When it was all built (picture 1977)

The Original Building 1849

According to the picture this was the school in 1849. You don’t need a picture to tell you the date though, you walk past it each day, but I bet you don’t see it!
