Further to our recent sad announcement HERE. Syd’s funeral will be held at St Peter’s Church, Elworth, on Wednesday the 18th June at 1:30 PM. It will be followed by a memorial reception at Sandbach Rugby Club. The family have extended an invitation to the Old Sandbachians community to attend both the funeral and the drinks afterwards. If you are going to attend please could you email us at contact@oldsandbachians.co.uk so we can let the family know. The family have very kindly indicated that any donations received should be given to the OSA, so if you would like to make a donation in memory of Syd you can do this at the funeral or via our donations link HERE. All of us at the Old Sandbachians’ Association are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Syd Holland. Syd was a former President, long standing committee member and life long supporter of Sandbach School and the OSA. Our heartfelt sympathy is with his family. RIP Syd – we will miss you. Funeral details and a full obituary will be published in due course.

It is with the greatest sadness that we have to report the death of legendary teacher, Pat Jeffers.

We are delighted to announce the 100th Annual Dinner celebrating 125 years of the Old Sandbachians’ Association on July 5th.

Andrew James Cleal was at Sandbach School from 1974 to 1981, and those staff and pupils who were there at the time will undoubtedly all have fond and varied memories of this enigmatic and unique student.

The Old Sandbachians’ Association would like to wish a very happy and prosperous new year to all our members and everyone involved at Sandbach School.

We want to wish all our group members, former pupils, staff and their families, a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for a happy and prosperous new year.

You are most welcome to join the OSA and the school at the annual Carol Concert at St Mary’s Church on Wednesday December 18th at 6:30pm.

The service lasts about an hour, and then we usually pop over to the Old Hall for a drink afterwards.

It is said that a sign of a good time is that no one wants it to end. So the fact that there were more than half the guests still mingling when the night ended, was evidence that this was certainly the case at the Former Cadets’ Dining In Night!
