It is said that a sign of a good time is that no one wants it to end. So the fact that there were more than half the guests still mingling when the night ended, was evidence that this was certainly the case at the Former Cadets’ Dining In Night!

Once again, OSA President Mark Bowland, and Vice President Jeff Lewis joined the annual Remembrance Sunday parade through the town, and jointly laid a wreath at the town’s War Memorial.

Once again the OSA will be joining the Sandbach Remembrance Parade this year, and new President Mark Bowland will lay a wreath on behalf of the Old Sandbachians’ Association.

Former Sandbach School headteacher, Colin Brown, last week completed a Memory Walk for the Alzheimer’s Society, in honour of his late wife, Christine, who sadly passed away in January 2022.

We are delighted to be sponsoring the match ball for Sandbach 1st XV v Winnington Park on November 20th 2024. As part of the occasion the Association will be hosting a lunch prior to the game in the club house.

Former Sandbach School Headteacher Colin Brown is taking part, in Tatton Park, in one of the Society’s fund-raising Memory Walks where there is always a large turn-out of folk undertaking the walk in memory of a deceased loved one who suffered from dementia.

This year’s Annual Reception proved to be one of the most successful yet. A mixture of former and current staff joined almost 50 former and current students for a fantastic afternoon.

When the OSA was offered additional seats for the 2024 CCF Dining In Night it left us in an unenviable position. Who, of so many former cadets, do we invite? The reaction on our Social Media showed there were some disgruntled old boys!
